The United States Postal Service (USPS) has many services that often go unnoticed. An example of a handy service — to keep in the back of your mind — is how the USPS will allow you to redirect a domestic shipment that hasn’t been delivered or released for delivery with their USPS Package Intercept® service.
The service is available for:
- Flats (with a tracking or extra services barcode)
Options include having mail piece:
- Held at a Post Office™ as a hold for pickup
- Sent to a different domestic address
- Alternatively be redirected as Priority Mail® back to the sender’s address
For commercial customers, with a Centralized Account Payment System (CAPS) account, register online at the Business Customer Gateway to make your request and pay applicable fees.
